Offer the relevant quality content to its visitors
And so to please Google it must appeal to readers. Here is how to please both.
Whenever we ask an SEO issue we must think about what is natural to the reader.
A one-page SEO strategy is in three parts:
- Choose a keyword from a subject;
- Write the article without thinking about SEO (think natural!)
- Article optimize for SEO.
In this article I'll take care of the third point.
1. Frequency keyword :
There was a time that seems distant now, or is that Google was silly. It was enough to arrange to insert the key word enough times to Google noticed. It was a regular pages with keyword frequency of 5%.
If you do not realize I assure you that it is huge and it is not natural. Such frequency that the reader will notice immediately. This corresponds to finding the keyword once in 20 words. Almost once a line!
That time is over and now it is best to stick with a frequency between 1.5 and 2%. To bring up your keyword phrases using the long tail. Add in some synonyms or similar terms.
For the keyword "SEO" can be synonymous "SEO" (Search Engine Optimizer) or "Rating".
Relatives terms would be "SERP" (Search Engine Ranking Pages) or "Google".
And keywords of the long tail would be "SEO", "paid search" or "effective method of SEO." In short you understood.
2. Presence in the title :
Insert the key word in the title is a good thing. The page title is the first thing the reader sees on Google's pages so it's logical that it attaches importance.
Try to write a title of less than 70 characters to be visible in full on Google and insert the keyword at the beginning with synonyms or similar terms. Here's an example:
SEO: pleasing the reader to rank on Google
3. Presence subtitles :
Like the title Google looks carefully subtitles. Insert your keyword in a subtitle, and the expressions of the long tail or synonyms in others.
Do not overdo it when Google will identify. Again think natural.
4. Presence in the first paragraph :
The first paragraph is the introduction, the one where you explain what the article. Google knows this and it is logical to think that lends him more attention than the rest of the article.
So you'll have to insert your keyword in the first paragraph of each page.
5. Presence in the meta description :
The meta description is the text that appears under the title in search pages. Google used this text to find keywords but it's no longer the case since SEOs have abused this lever.
Does that mean he forget? Absolutely not!
The meta description is one of the parameters that decide the reader to click on your page or not. It must therefore be attractive. Its sole purpose is to encourage the maximum number of readers who sees to read the article.
Insert the keyword in the meta description is far from useless to the reader as much as Google. It is possible that this is still a factor taken into account even if it has less impact than before because again, what pleases the reader pleases Google.
6. Presence in the URL :
A URL also provides information to the reader. A URL:
is very explicit. The reader knows what it treats, it is only natural that Google takes this into account.
The main thing is to put the keyword in the part about the page. The part about the possible category of the article may contain synonyms or near proximity indicating that the site covers the subject on other pages.
However, careful not to end up with too many addresses. Over a URL is shorter and is memorable for visitors.
Also avoid parameterized addresses and incomprehensible to the reader.
7. External links :
Some SEOs are no links to the outside of their site for fear of their visitors to leave. The consequence of this is that Google sees the site as a black hole. There outbound links but none returned.
It is best to add some links to sites dealing a close subject. It is best to avoid competing otherwise the SEO penalizes itself.
The best sites for this are authority sites. The sites are known by everyone and have many pages to which you can put your links. Wikipedia or news sites lemonde.fr type are my favorite.
Remember to vary the links and keep it natural.
8. Text Length :
I have already said, but I repeat: Google seeks what is relevant to the reader.
This means that to rank a page should provide something of value, and this can not be done in 200 words.
Regarding articles written we note that the average length of the top 10 results is growing according to their position. In other words, the longer articles are better positioned.
For a video or computer graphics it is more difficult to judge the relevance of a page and Google will therefore also rely on the number of shares on social networks.
In short, offer quality content and for that you have to take his time.
9. Type of content :
As I said in the previous point, the texts are not the only form of content. The video, infographics, podcasts or any other form of content imaginable is possible.
Besides a page that is not limited to one type of content but offers images and videos, for example, is more likely to be useful to the reader.
Take advantage of the diversity of content to remain natural and do not limit yourself.
